2005 Toyota Tundra
Tundra is a term that conveys strength and ruggedness. The Tundra was a response
by Toyota to clamors by what buyers loved about their pick-up truck's reliability,
styling, practicality, dependability, ease-of-operation, low maintenance costs.
When Toyota engineers began doing research on the Tundra Double Cab, they wanted
to see how big they could go. They made it 19 feet two inches. This makes the
Tundra Double Cab the biggest thing Toyota makes.
Toyota's engineers and designers also discovered that many pickup trucks are
actually used for serious work and play. Thus, an increase in its payload and
towing capacities was achieved. The Toyota Tundra is Toyota Motor Corporation's
second attempt at producing a full size truck for the American marketplace.
Its predecessor is the Toyota T-100. Built exclusively at Toyota Motor Manufacturing,
Indiana (TMMI) and was the first Toyota vehicle launched in model-year 2000, the
V8 powered 2000 Toyota Tundra went on sale in June of 1999 and had the best sales
debut ever of any Toyota or Lexus product.
Toyota's first full-size truck is a very good one, especially for the general
consumer Toyota realized that consumers expect certain things when they buy a
Toyota: excellent build, quality, class-leading reliability and well-designed
interiors. The Tundra meets those requirements
